(17w 5d): This is the second week in a row where on a Sunday morning I woke up, Matt said "good morning," and I said "IHOP". I really didn't realize that pregnant women have their own language! Not only does sleepily slurring "IHOP" qualify for "good morning darling, I love you truly, please take me out to breakfast because your dear unborn child is starving and really would love some stuffed French toast", but phrases like "wuzzahuzzafuh" are commonplace, and have different meaning depending on the context. And, did I mention, the dear father to be is expected to decipher each phrase on his own. Hey, if I have to go through labor, he can work a little to figure out what I'm talking about.
So, I've also realized that I may just end up being "one of those" moms. I just spent the last half hour emailing the soon to be grandmothers silly pictures of my dogs (see the new photo album for a sample). Not that they wanted them, or even asked for them... I'm not even all that sure either of them necessarily like my dogs. But, it struck me while I was doing it... I am already emailing stupid pictures of my kids! I have a scary feeling I'm going to need a separate diaper bag big enough to carry every photo I've ever taken of this child. I suppose if you are going to do something, you might as well over do it as obsessive-compulsively as possible, right?
Maybe its just me.Comments:Add a comment:

(17w 2d): I finally got the pictures up for this week. I think maybe I should stick with wearing black! Also, I realize the "slideshow" seems to run backwards (from week 17 to week 15), but in order to have the most recent picture show up on the main page they have to be organized this way.
Funny, it really feels like I've been doing this site for more than just 3 weeks. Actually, it feels like I've been doing this whole pregnancy thing for more than 17 weeks. And they tell me the first twenty weeks goes by quick... its the second twenty that take forever! yikes!

(17 weeks): The baby is 4.4 to 4.8 inches, and its weight has doubled in the last two weeks to about 3.5 ounces. He or she is about the size of my hand spread wide open.
Only 23 weeks to go! The last week has passed uneventfully. I still haven't felt the baby moving yet, but I have gained another pound, and had more blood taken for yet more tests (this one was so nice, she left me a lovely little bruise to show for it). Morning sickness is gone, and as long as I take a small nap in the afternoons, I have plenty of energy.
I will post week 17 pictures soon!Comments:Add a comment:

(16W 1D): Crown-to-rump length of the baby this week is 4.3 to 4.6 inches, and weight is about 2.8 ounces. I should be able to feel movement any time between now and 20 weeks!
Week 16 photos are uploaded! Not much of a difference, but I'll make a flip-book for the baby shower and we can watch me grow! *giggle*
I've been feeling better. If I'm nauseated at all it seems to stay in the mornings, and I feel like I have a bit more energy. Matt got me 2 hours of massage for Valentine's day! The lady that does it specializes in "pregnancy massage" (basically she knows what spots hurt the most on a pregnant chick). He's so great! I'm also planning to call about a yoga class this week.
And, for those who are curious... yes, I can still fit into my bodice...uh... I just can't lace it up. *insert raspberry here*Comments:Add a comment:

Yaaaaaaaay! I finally got the sonogram picture digitized! Thanks to Jill's advice about taking a picture with the digital camera, and Matt's finding a tripod and helping me to figure out the right camera setting. No thanks to the Suisun winds (any light other than outdoor sunlight caused a glare)! So, on the right you can see a little + to the left of that is baby (looking down). To the right is its halo, you know any child of mine is going to be so innocent it would hafta be born with its own halo. *snicker*
Enjoy!Comments:Add a comment:

(15W 2D): Check out the new link at the bottom for The Baby Game! The more that play the more fun it'll be! I know its a little early, but I don't care! hehehe
Been a great day! No nausea, and a bit of energy! I've been in kind of a silly mood since Monday.
I'm going to mess around and see if I can get a picture of the 9 week sonogram that is clear enough to put up here. Check back later today to see if I was successful!Comments:Add a comment:

(15W 1D): According to "Your Pregnancy Week By Week" by this week the baby is 4.1 to 4.5 inches and weighs about 1.75 ounces. It is close to the size of a softball.
I've been feeling better over the last couple of days, only nauseated first thing in the morning instead of all day. And, I seem to have more energy in the afternoons. Yesterday I even went out shopping and spent a ton of money on maternity clothes!Comments:Add a comment:

(14W 6D): Matt & I just got back from the doctor's appointment. We heard the baby's heart beat for the first time today! 158 fast and furious beats per minute! I'm pretty sure that's how fast my heart started to beat once I heard it!
That settles it, this is really real now. We both decided that this was the moment that made the whole thing REAL. (as if constant nausea hasn't been realistic enough in itself)
We're going out to dinner to celebrate!Comments:Add a comment:
