It seems like every day Jake learns something new. All these little things that are eventually going to add up to a bunch of big things, things that we take for granted every day.
Yesterday morning he told me what he wanted to do. Literally. He was in his exersaucer, I came into the room with coffee, and he smiled at me and said, "bwabwa." That's about as close as he can get to saying Boobah without prompting. I said, "Jake, you want to watch Boobah?" He laughed and said, "BaBwa!"
Over the last few days I have caught him practicing standing on his own when he thought no one was looking. It still only lasts a few seconds, but the look of intense concentration on his face will last a lifetime. I'll try to get a picture of it sometime in the next couple of days.
One of his favorite games to play lately is "Where's Jake?" He crawls over to the back door, sits down, and pulls the curtain over his face. I say, "where's Jake?" and he suddenly uncovers himself smiling. When I say, "there he is!" he quickly pulls the curtain back over his face. Unfortunately, every time I grab the camera, the game is over and he wants to either pose, or try and get it away from me.
The nerd in me loves watching his brain make these connections, and seeing him figure things out on his own. The kid in me is having a great time playing. The student in me is loving that she gets to learn something new every day. The mom in me is just bursting with pride.Comments:Add a comment:
