This afternoon, Jake and I went out to lunch. We don't generally get to have lunch "out" as just the two of us, so it always feels like something of a special occasion.
I wasn't sure if he had ever eaten a corn dog before, but I do know he likes hot dogs, so I asked him if he wanted little hot dogs wrapped in bread, and he said yes.
Eventually the food arrived, and the waitress set Jake's plate down in front of him with about six miniature corn dogs. I cut them in half to show him that there was indeed a hot dog inside, squirted some ketchup onto a plate for him, and began to eat my sandwich.
After a minute or two of relative quiet I look over to check on Jake, and he is busy pulling all of the bread off the hot dogs and eating them with one hand, while eating the ketchup with the other. He refused to even try the 'corn' part of his corn dog, no matter what I said. At the end of our meal, his plate was a pile of discarded corn dog husks.
All I could do was sit there and laugh. Though, I did manage to get a picture of his plate, I'll be sure to post it later.Comments:Add a comment:
