The Big Boy Bed
Apparently, last Friday night Matt went into Jake's room only to find the boy precariously perched on TOP of his crib rail. Jake just kept saying, "stuck daddy, daddy, stuck."
So, that was the end of the crib. Two days ago when Jake woke up from his nap, he 'helped' me change his crib into a toddler bed. And, that is pretty much the last time I slept.
He is so excited by this new found freedom that he literally climbs out of bed, and throws his toys around the room. As soon as I go in there he says, "bed time! Big boy bed!" and runs and dives face first into the bed.
This is our new big fun game.
I hope we don't have to play for too much longer.
The picture on the main page shows you just how well nap time went today. His room was clean when I attempted to put him down the first time.Comments:Add a comment:

Jake's New Favorite Toy.
Jake is TOTALLY fascinated by the printer. He can hear that thing from anywhere in the house, and comes RUNNING. Usually he grabs the paper and runs off with it. I'm not sure why, aside from the occasional picture of him or daddy, I don't usually print anything that would interest a nearly two year old.
So this morning I'm printing a trial run of Jake's birthday invite, and he comes running in, grabs it, and runs out. This is when I actually start using my brain. (Can you see the little lightbulb over my head?)
I went to Nick Jr. (see the links section, I added it), and started printing out coloring pages of all his favorite characters. Jake was fascinated, and SO excited any time a page would get half way done and he'd figure out who was on it.
He had me laughing so hard, every time a page came out he'd say "OH! Fanks compooder" (Fanks = Thanks) and take the page and run over to put it in his little pile of pages.
The printer? Best toy ever!
Oh.. and if anyone comes across super cheap ink cartridges, let me know, I just might need 'em.Comments:Add a comment:

Jake's Day At Marine World
Jake had SO much fun! He got to ride a few rides early in the day, then we went around and looked at the animals. By far his favorites were the elephants and the penguins.
Thank goodness we were able to buy a pacifier (and at only $3 it was the deal of the day!), Mommy accidentally forgot to bring one. As soon as it hit his mouth he conked out in the stroller, and Matt and I enjoyed watching a couple of shows, and being able to spend some time with each other.
It was a great day for all of us.
Be sure to check out the links section of the page, and click on Jake's TV Debut! Matt was asked to give an interview for the AP, and ended up being a one-minute news story all of his own! It was very exciting!Comments:Add a comment:
